Traveling Tuesday: Chicago & St. Louis!

Hello! Whew! We had a whirlwind trip over Labor Day weekend! We got back late last night, and are worn out, but we had SO much fun! This was my first trip to Chicago and I loved everything we were able to see and do. Sloane has some pictures on his phone that I'll have to add later :)

We went to South Bend, Indiana for a Notre Dame game! We aren't huge fans, but it was close to Chicago and we couldn't miss the opening weekend of college football! This is the players walking to mass before the game.
Here are some college guys floating in the fountain, waiting on the football players,
in front of the "Touchdown Jesus" mosaic.

Ya'll. I had an emotional breakdown and threw the biggest fit. It was hotter than HELL and I sweated through this entire dress. Drama central. Sorry Sloane... Good thing he loves me ;)

The band was AWESOME! They played and then we marched with them and the Irish Guard to the stadium!

Ta-Dah! Tiny, old, tradition filled stadium- a lot like War Memorial in Little Rock.

Rain delay! At least I got some nachos.
(Sloane never lets me get nachos, it's a running joke around here.)

On to Chicago! Lake Michigan- my first time to see the Great Lakes! Also, after the Notre Dame game Sloane drove me to the  Michigan border so I could cross it off my list of states I've visited.

Sears tower.

Trump tower.

Theeeee Cubby Bear!

Hot stuff right there.

PERFECT day!

View from the Cubby Bear after the game.

On our way to the Chicago Jazz Festival.

Dance floor. Enough said.

AWESOME music... great night. We ate my first Chicago style pizza afterwards :)

On the way home, we stopped in STL!

AMAZING Bar-B-Que, sweet potato fries, and fried corn! I ate most of it :)

We had to stop at Ted Drewes for some ice cream of course. Duh.

We had another successful road trip! The next few Traveling Tuesdays will be about places that are on our list to visit and trips that are in the works :) Hope you had a lovely, long weekend and cheers to a new, short week!

We will spend Friday night in St. Louis!
Saturday we will drive up to South Bend, IN for a NOTRE DAME game! We are so excited! Sloane knows a guy who went to college there and he has told us all the fun places & game day traditions!

Saturday night we will finally make it to Chicago!

I can't wait to sight see and go to H&M!

Sunday we will get to go see the Cubbies!

I can't wait to go on this trip with Sloane and then get to share all the pictures with you :) What are YOU doing for Labor Day? Do you have any ideas or places you love in Chicago?!

Traveling Tuesday: Santa Fe!

Today I wanted to show ya'll a little bit about our Fourth of July trip to Santa Fe! Sloane and I had never been there and we ended up LOVING it! We got there really late and went straight to dinner at Cafe Pasqual's! It was delicious, but someone was sooooo tired!

So sleepy :)
We loved it so much, we grabbed breakfast burritos to go the next morning and took them with us as we saw the sights.
Here I am wearing the dress I've apparently worn in EVERY SINGLE PICTURE I've taken this summer.

This is the main square (we ate our breakfast burritos here!)

My boyfriend in a really unique outdoor art gallery.

I wonder what he was thinking about! "hmm"

Typical.

I FOUND ANOTHER CAT! She was purring. And I bought cowboy boots 1/2 off!

We had a hotel mix-up and Sloane complained so they gave us our own little house complete with chocolate covered strawberries and chilled champagne!

We went to the New Mexico wine festival and they had a fun, local band playing.

Anyone know what type of flower/bush this is? I loved it and they were everywhere!

Ok, when Sloane ordered this I thought it would be weird, but it was DELICIOUS! This, ladies & gentlemen (actually I don't know that any gentlemen read this, but anyway), is avocado pie!! It was frozen and tasted almost just like key lime pie, but with a different texture. Surprisingly tasty :)

We went to the BEST spa.  It was up in the mountains and everything was outdoors and they had hot springs as well as other normal spa services.

Sunday we drove up the road to Taos along the Enchanted Circle.  We saw the Rio Grande Gorge! It made me nervous. No joke. But here is my brave man, LEANING over the edge... my oh my.

We made it! Our little hotel for the night.

Awesome place to eat- this was Sloane's favorite on the trip which is funny because it has such a romantic name- ha! The food was all locally grown and was so, so good.

I am so lucky to have him :)
I would definitely recommend the Santa Fe area for a fun, long weekend destination! We loved learning about the culture, seeing all the history, and eating all the food :)

Traveling Tuesday: The Northeast

Early this summer, Sloaner took me on the best trip EVER for our 5th anniversary! I had never been to the Northeast and he took me to all the best places! It was SO neat because I got to see things I have  read about or seen on tv or the internet, but not in real life! We started in Seaside, Fl and then traveled by car, train, and plane to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, PA, New York City, NY, Boston, MA, and all along the coast of Maine! We were gone for 15 days and had the time of our lives!

Washington, D.C. in the Capitol.

Cutie baby.

Got this coverup at H&M and love it!

Me and Handsome outside the Lincoln Memorial.

Sloane & the Liberty Bell.

Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA.

The BEST Philly cheese steak in Philadelphia.

In NYC, we were able to see FOUR musicals (love them!), including Phantom of the Opera!

We went up to the top at night and it was BEAUTIFUL looking out on the city.

Boyfriend in Times Square.

Love :)

Nom, nom, nom. Little Italy pizzeria.

Lady Liberty (and Sloane!)!

Boston! The tower where they hung the lanterns!

What are the chances?!?!?!?!?!?!

The boys at Boston Harbor.

Looking back on the city.

Sloane surprised me with a convertible in Maine! We were freezing, but it was so sweet!!!

We stayed in Acadia National Park and it. was. gorgeous.

I found a cat... in Maine... it was awesome.

We had SUCH a fun time together! Sloane's the best and I love him more than anything! (He doesn't read the blog so I can be as mushy as I want!!!)
